Laravel applications that move your business forward

Dutch Coding Company builds, modernizes and maintains web applications in Laravel: customer portals, SaaS platforms, dashboards and the back end of mobile apps. Our Laravel developers work as forward-deployed engineers, directly with your team, with no project manager, product owner or other go-between in the way.

Is your current Laravel application stuck or due for a major update, or do you want to bring a new product or service to market? Laravel can be a powerful solution for that. What fits you depends on your business case and your end users, and we always choose the best software for the job. Get in touch to discuss the options.

The framework

What is Laravel?

Laravel is an open source PHP framework for building web applications, launched in 2011 by Taylor Otwell and built on components of the Symfony framework. A framework is the foundation under your application: it gives developers a structured way of working and a large set of tools to build faster. Laravel is not a CMS like WordPress; it is made for web applications.

Laravel comes with standard building blocks for what almost every application needs, such as authentication, database management, email, caching and security. Developers don't have to write that foundation themselves and can spend their time on the features that set your product apart. For you, that means going live sooner, less custom code to maintain and a structure any experienced Laravel developer will recognize.

The right choice

When should you choose Laravel?

Laravel is the right choice when your software needs its own logic, user roles or integrations that an off-the-shelf package doesn't offer. Think of a customer portal, a SaaS platform, a planning tool or an API that supplies your mobile app with data.

Is it mainly about publishing content, like a marketing website or a blog? Then a CMS is a better fit. For a standard webshop, existing solutions are usually cheaper and better. Laravel is at its best when your needs aren't standard. Dutch Coding Company always picks the technology that fits your goals. We give you honest advice on the trade-offs and decide on the best approach together.

The symptoms

Is your Laravel application holding you back?

An application needs ongoing maintenance to keep working well. Recognize any of these signs? Then it's time to take a critical look at your codebase.

  • You're running an outdated version

Older Laravel versions no longer receive security updates. Putting off maintenance only makes it more expensive.

  • Every change introduces bugs

New features take longer and cost more each time. That's a sign the application wasn't built to be maintainable.

  • The knowledge sits in one person's head

Depending on a single developer can leave you in a painful position. Make sure you have a team you can rely on.

What our Laravel developers can do for you

Every Laravel project is set up following our Next-generation Software Development approach: modern tooling combined with a no-nonsense process. That's how you launch at speed.

Building new applications

We start with clear goals and a first version that reaches your users fast. Then we keep building in short iterations, based on real user feedback.

A back end for your mobile app

Laravel is the back end behind many of our Flutter apps. One API serves your iOS app, Android app and web platform, with the same data and the same business logic.

Project takeovers and upgrades

We take over existing Laravel projects, even when the documentation is missing. First we stabilize, then we upgrade to a supported version and continue development.

Integrations and APIs

Your software rarely stands on its own. We connect your Laravel application to your ERP, CRM, payment provider or other systems, so nobody has to retype data by hand.

Admin panels with Filament

With Filament, an open source toolkit for Laravel, we quickly build clear admin panels. Your team manages users, content and orders themselves, without a developer.

Security and performance audits

We review your code and assess your application's architecture, maintainability, security and performance. Where needed, we give practical advice to improve your Laravel application.

Open source

Active in the Laravel community

Dutch Coding Company doesn't just use the Laravel ecosystem, we help build it. We maintain open source packages for Laravel and Filament, such as filament-socialite for signing in with, for example, Google or GitHub, and filament-developer-logins for quick testing during development. Together, these packages have been downloaded more than 1.9 million times!

That's why our Laravel developers know the ecosystem from the inside and see problems coming before they reach your application.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Laravel

How much does it cost to have a Laravel application built?

The cost of a Laravel application depends on the number of features, the integrations with other systems and the complexity of the business logic. Laravel itself is free: you only pay for development, hosting and maintenance. That's why Dutch Coding Company starts with clear goals, so your budget goes to the features that deliver the most.

How long does it take to build a Laravel application?

A new Laravel application built by Dutch Coding Company goes live within three months. That works because we don't build everything at once: the first version contains the features that deliver the most for your business and your users. After that, we keep building in short iterations, based on how your users actually use the application.

Bringing an existing application? Then we start with an analysis of the codebase. Afterwards, you know exactly what's needed and how long it will take.

Is it a problem if my application runs on an old Laravel version?

Yes, as soon as your Laravel version stops receiving security updates. Laravel gives each major version 18 months of bug fixes and 2 years of security updates (Laravel release notes). At the time of writing (October 2026), Laravel 13 is the latest version, Laravel 12 receives security updates until February 24, 2027, and Laravel 11 has been unsupported since March 12, 2026.

The older your version, the more intermediate steps an upgrade takes. Dutch Coding Company first maps out what's needed, then carries out the upgrade in small, controlled steps.

How secure is a Laravel application?

Laravel protects against common attacks out of the box, such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS) and cross-site request forgery (CSRF). Whether a Laravel application is actually secure also depends on how the code is written, how the server is configured and whether updates are installed on time. Dutch Coding Company is ISO 27001 certified, hosts everything in the EU and checks applications with code reviews and security testing.

Can Laravel be the back end of my mobile app?

Yes, Laravel is a common foundation for the API behind mobile apps. Dutch Coding Company often combines Laravel with Flutter: Flutter for the app on iOS and Android, Laravel for the data, user accounts, payments and notifications. The same Laravel API can then also serve a web platform or admin panel.

Can you take over an existing Laravel project?

Yes. Dutch Coding Company takes over Laravel projects from other vendors or from a developer who has left. We start with an analysis of the codebase and tackle the most urgent problems first, such as security, performance and stability. Then we modernize the application step by step, so you can ship new features quickly and safely again.
