An app that moves your business forward

Want an app for your customers, your employees or a new product? Dutch Coding Company builds mobile apps for iOS and Android, including design, back end and publication in the App Store and Google Play. Our app developers work as forward-deployed engineers, directly with your team, with no project manager, product owner or other go-between in the way.

We don't start with features, but with what your app needs to deliver: more revenue, happier users or a process that runs faster. Then we build the smallest version that makes that possible, so your app is in your users' hands as soon as possible.

The technology

Flutter or native: which technology fits your app?

Dutch Coding Company builds most apps in Flutter, Google's open source framework. With Flutter, we write one codebase that runs as a real app on iOS and Android, and on the web if you need it. That saves development time and maintenance costs, and your users get the same experience on every device.

Sometimes a native app, built in Swift or Kotlin, has the edge. For example, when you launch on a single platform, or depend on an integration or hardware that only one platform supports. In practice, we see many industrial and IoT apps that are built for Android only. We can help with those too, and we're happy to advise you on the options.

How does app development work?

App development at Dutch Coding Company takes five steps, from idea to an app that keeps growing:

  1. Clear goals: your business goals decide what we build.
  2. Design and user tests: we design the app and test the design with real users.
  3. Building: our engineers work alongside AI agents, so your app goes live sooner.
  4. Launch: we publish your app in the App Store and Google Play.
  5. Continuous development: we improve the app based on what your users tell us.

The results

Apps people open every day

You can tell a good app by what it delivers. Here are a few results from apps we've built for our clients.

  • 80,000+ students

That's how many students print with the Canon Campus Print app, from their phone to any printer on campus.

  • 4.7 stars

The CycleMasters indoor cycling app scores a 4.7 from more than 1,900 reviews in the app stores.

  • 190% growth

After the Moeders voor Moeders app was rebuilt, donor sign-ups grew by 190%.

What our app developers can do for you

Every app is set up following our Next-generation Software Development approach: modern tooling combined with a no-nonsense process. That's how you launch at speed.

Developing a new app

We start with clear goals and a first version that reaches your users fast. Then we keep building in short iterations, based on real user feedback.

UX/UI design and user tests

An app nobody understands is an app nobody uses. We design every screen for your users and test the design with them before a single line of code is written.

Back end and integrations

Most apps rely on a back end for accounts, data and payments. We build it in Laravel, and connect your app to your CRM, ERP or other systems.

Taking over an existing app

Is your current app stuck, or has your vendor moved on? We take over the app, stabilize it first and then continue development.

Publishing in the app stores

Apple and Google each have their own requirements for apps. We handle publication in the App Store and Google Play, including Apple's and Google's review.

Maintenance and hosting

An app is never finished. New versions of iOS and Android call for updates, and we keep your app secure and up to date, with hosting in the EU.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about app development

How much does it cost to have an app developed?

The cost of an app depends on the number of features, the design, the integrations with other systems and whether you need your own back end. On top of that, expect ongoing costs for hosting, updates and maintenance. That's why Dutch Coding Company starts with clear goals, so your budget goes to the features that deliver the most.

Curious what your app would cost? Book a no-obligation consultation and we'll make an estimate together.

How long does it take to build an app?

A new app built by Dutch Coding Company goes live within three months. Luisterrust, for example, went from idea to launch in three months, and SamenSpelen was in the stores within four weeks. That works because the first version contains only the features that deliver the most. After that, we keep building in short iterations.

Should I choose Flutter or a native app?

For most apps, Flutter is the best choice: one codebase for iOS and Android means less development time and lower maintenance costs. Native development in Swift or Kotlin makes sense when your app needs deep integration with hardware or the operating system. Dutch Coding Company advises you on that trade-off before anything gets built. Read more about app development in Flutter.

Who owns the app and the source code?

All code we develop for you is yours, including the documentation and the development history. If you like, we'll set you up with real-time access to the code. Your app is published under your own App Store and Google Play accounts, so you can bring development in-house later on.

How secure is an app built by Dutch Coding Company?

Dutch Coding Company is ISO 27001 certified, hosts everything in the EU and develops on the principle of secure by design. We process personal data in line with the GDPR. Our article on privacy-friendly app development explains how we approach it.

Can you take over an existing app?

Yes. Dutch Coding Company takes over apps from other vendors or from a developer who has left. We start with an analysis of the codebase and tackle the most urgent problems first, such as crashes, security and outdated dependencies. Then we continue developing the app step by step.

Do you work with companies outside Eindhoven?

Yes. Dutch Coding Company works from Eindhoven for clients across the Netherlands as well as internationally, and we're happy to come to you. We've had clients in Belgium, India & USA before. A first conversation is always no-obligation, so you'll quickly know whether we're a good fit.
