The challenge
"Make EDI accessible to small businesses too"
OMS International is an expert in electronic B2B/B2G communication and data integration, and provides various EDI solutions to businesses. With such solutions, companies can invoice and order digitally more efficiently. However, the connection costs for such a solution are high, which makes it interesting only for larger organizations. That's why OMS International came up with OMSConnect: a portal that lets small businesses use EDI invoicing too, without high connection costs.
Our approach
Secure, user-friendly and reliable
We developed a system for sending electronic messages, such as orders and invoices, between companies in the supply chain. For the development of OMSConnect, OMS was looking for a digital product developer. Technology wasn't the only thing that mattered: to keep the barrier to entry as low as possible, it also has to work well. It also helps if the product looks good. On top of that, there are a number of essential basic requirements that must be met, such as security and a reliable EDI connection.
Secure software development
Secure custom portal
The system was built securely from the start of development. A secure system architecture was carefully thought out in advance, and a reliable framework is used that meets modern industry standards.
In addition, the security of the system was thoroughly tested by a white hat hacker (security expert), who carried out a penetration test. This involved trying to break into the system, to make sure the system and the data are only accessible to authorized parties. The system was also tested for resistance to cross-site scripting and SQL injection, among other things, so that the system is fully secure and malicious parties can't do any harm.
UX design
User-friendly UX design and an attractive look
Of course, attention was also paid to the look of the system. The logo and style of the entire system were created by a designer, with the user experience (UX) in mind.
The developers carefully implemented these designs, resulting in a good-looking and functional piece of software.
In terms of functionality and ease of use, extra attention was paid to certain factors so that businesses can work with the system quickly and easily. For example, in addition to filling in forms manually, there is also the option to easily upload files.
White-label software development

OMS International wants to be able to roll this system out to multiple organizations. That's why OMSconnect was built with the option to set up the system entirely in a company's own brand identity.
In addition, OMSconnect is modular, so that each company has access to its own message types and certain parts can be switched on or off. This also makes it easy to add new message types later.

The result: a powerful custom portal
The result is OMSconnect: a custom portal that allows small organizations to send and receive electronic messages without having to set up a complete EDI environment themselves. Various message types that are common in the EDI environment, such as invoices and orders, can be sent easily.
Besides sending and receiving messages through the system, trading partners can also manage their company and users. Through the admin panel, OMS International can, among other things, send system messages (notifications) to users, manage companies and users, and view the number of messages sent per type.

It allows small organizations in particular to send and receive electronic messages without having to set up a complete EDI environment themselves.
